Class of ’78, a.k.a. The Best Class Ever, Update
The Class of 78 will be getting together June 7th to celebrate its 30th reunion. Whew! It only seems like 29 years. Time flies. Here’s a random sampling of what some of the ’78 grads are up to these days…
Joe Basque is currently living in Omaha with his wife Jennifer Gilg. Joe is an attorney with Iowa Legal Aid. Over the past few years Joe has been the director of the Shelterbelt Theatre in Omaha and has also written two plays, one of which was produced in New York City and received very good reviews. Look for major Broadway productions courtesy of Joe coming sometime soon.
David Cejka, Bremser Award Winner and All-Around Great Guy, is living in Goffstown, New Hampshire. Dave has three boys: Dane, Caleb and Christian. When Dave is not busy ripping down the slopes of the mountains in New Hampshire, he works in the medical supplies field.
Abbie Jensen is married to a tall, friendly English chap named John. They have a daughter Rachel who just recently celebrated her 7th birthday. The family resides in Amherst, Massachusetts where Abbey is a mad scientist (OK, PhD and Assistant Professor) in the Biology Department at the University of Massachusetts. It’s a good thing Abbie paid attention in science class.
Angie Matt lives on a very steep hill in San Francisco where she currently is doing a major renovation on her house. Angie received her Masters degree in architecture a few years ago and is currently an architect with C.J. Architects in downtown San Francisco. Angie very recently got married to Sam and has become an instant mother to her stepson, Henry.
Mike Moylan, Valedictorian of the class of ’78 and sometime starting guard on the basketball team, is a real estate mogul here in Omaha. Mike is the brain and brawn behind the restoration of the Paxton in downtown Omaha. Mike is finally—and I mean, finally, getting married later this spring to the lovely Sigrid Mamminga. Best Wishes Mikey!
Dennis McGuire, voted the best looking realtor in Omaha (voted on by his mother and wife) honed his real estate skills from carpooling with Mike Moylan to school each day. Dennis was one of several eligible bachelors from the class of ’78 who was recently swept off his feet. He was married to the delightful Juliana Smith and is living in the up and coming area just south of the Old Market. If you are looking to buy or sell a house in Omaha, you know who to call!
And that’s a quick look at what some of the grads are up to. If you would like to share a story of someone from the class of ’78, feel free to complete the Alumni form with this newsletter or e-mail Kyle (O’Connor) Nelson at kylenelson64@cox.net.
Hope to see you at the reunion!
