Youth Apostolate
We are the Refiner's FIRE! Youth Apostolate from Christ the King Church. The
RFYA is made up of teenagers, young adults, and adult leaders dedicated to the
mission of evangelization, catechesis, and expression of faith through praise
and worship. In collaboration with parish groups and other youth activities, we
hold FIRE! Rally Nights during Saturday evenings of each month. The FIRE! Rally
Nights help our members to 1) Grow deeper in our knowledge of the truths of the
Catholic Faith; 2) Engage in a variety of prayer forms, such as intercession,
adoration of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, contemplation; 3) Rejoice in God's
love and presence in our Catholic Faith and Life; 4) Evangelize our hearts and
minds to be transformed by God's Holy Spirit; 5) To more fully live out our
faith in our decisions and life experiences; 6) Grow in Christian Fellowship
with one another and help to serve the needs of our parish and community.
Mission Statement
The mission and goals of the Refiner's FIRE! Youth Apostolate from Christ the
King Church are based on the commandment of our Lord Jesus to love God and to
love our neighbor (cf. Luke 10:27). Based on these principles, our Mission and
Apostolate are summarized: The First is to promote spiritual growth and
strengthen our personal relationship with God through Jesus by the power of the
Holy Spirit who transforms and renews our minds and hearts. (cf. Romans 12:2)
The Second is to spread the teachings of Jesus to other young people through our
FIRE! Rally Nights. (cf. Matthew 4:19) We take our Blessed Virgin Mother, under
the title of our Regina Caeli Queen of Heaven, as our Model and Protectress. We
ask her guidance in accomplishing our work and goals in the Church and in our
lives. We have a special dedication and gratitude to His Holiness, Pope John
Paul II, in inspiring the youths of the world to be the saints of the new
millennium. We endeavor to respond to his challenge to "keep safe the
deposit of faith" by being "the light of Christ to the world."

with each band spending one hour in adoration on the first Saturday/Sunday of
the month (second weekend if the first falls on a holiday) between the hours of
10:30 p.m. Saturday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday. The hour of each band is rotated each
month.
During the hour of prayer, there are periods of common prayer; there are
periods of common prayer, private and silent prayer. The common prayer is the
liturgical prayer taken from the "Liturgy of the Hours", better known
as the Office of the Blessed Sacrament.
The Society encourages the membership to attend the funeral of any band

deceased member. The Nocturnal Adoration Society was founded in Rome in 1810 and
