    • We have a goal - Heaven, a road map - Scripture and Tradition, examples to follow - the Saints, leadership - the Pope, Bishops, Priests and Deacons, clear teaching authority - the Magisterium of the Church, help along the way - the Sacraments, and we have Divine guidance - the Holy Spirit.  (by: Ginny Whelan,  St. John XXII Catholic Church, Ft. Meyers FL)  So.... what is left to do?

        • sacraments of initiation

Sacraments have visible and invisible aspects. Visible, like a hug from a parent to a child, and invisible with the love that the hug expresses. That sacramental love is what we call Grace.

The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1601)

Divine Mercy Sunday, or the Feast of the Divine Mercy, is celebrated on the second Sunday of Easter, Arpil 16, 2023, which concludes the Octave of Easter. According to the diary descriptions of Sister Faustina Kowalka's encounter with Jesus, total expiation of all sins and punishment are bestowed upon those who go to sacramental confession and receive holy communion on that day, along with plenary indulgence for the recitation of the novena.

      • Family Faith Formation

        • The term "Domestic Church" refers to the family, the smallest body of gathered believers in Christ, where we first learn who God is and to prayerfully seek His will for us. Family Faith Formation was created to help develop strong Catholic families in which children (kindergarten through sixth grade) learn the joys of following Jesus Christ and the truths of our Faith through the witness of Christian life given by their parents. We also want you to grow in faith and relationship with other parents and families in the parish.

Each year is self-contained, and so families may join at any time in the cycle. After four years, families will have been guided through the entirety of the Catechism and will have developed a broad understanding of the Church's teachings. Families then cycle through the program again in order to deepen their knowledge and develop the habits needed for life-long spiritual growth.

The 2022-2023 Family Faith Formation will take place on the first Wednesday of every month from September through May, from 6:15 PM - 7:30 PM in the Parish Center.

      • Reconciliation

        • Sin is before all else an offense against God, a rupture of communion with him. At the same time sin damages communion with the Church. For this reason conversion entails both God's forgiveness and reconciliation with the Church, which are expressed and accomplished liturgically by the sacrament of Reconciliation. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1440)

Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered at the following times:
Saturday from 3:30-4:30 pm or by calling the parish office (402-391-3606) for an appointment.First reconciliation and Communion
